L's favorite part of the trick-or-treating was seeing all the spiders. A couple of times he even burst out in song, "The itsy, bitsy spider..." The spiders were supposed to be scary.

The half-Olympic pool, close proximity to the ocean and Oyster Bay (with our almost daily runs to the get Italian Ices) made this a grand vacation. The three kids played nonstop for the two weeks, running from first light until collapse in the evening. I even successfully ignored email.
