Twins
Doing a little 'rock climbing' in Central Park, the twins were clearly in their element. This was especially good after having Z cry through the visit to the NY Public Library (where I was in my element).

A view from the top
We timed it right and were able to get up the Empire State Building relatively quickly on a nearly perfect day. Views were unbelievable---but the little urban girls were already bored --- after all, they said, we have bigger buildings in Chicago...

Amy and Linus
Amy took Linus out into the waves where Linus (having recently discovered how much he loves swimming) laughed and laughed as the waves crashed into him.

Water Fun
In addition to the beach, Oyster Bay has a fantastic water play area---which the three girls liked almost as much as the Ocean itself.

The Mansion
Vacation 2009 was in Brookville, NY at Erica and John's home. The first week we had the whole clan together and then the Repptians stayed on for an extra week. The half-Olympic pool, close proximity to the ocean and Oyster Bay (with our almost daily runs to the get Italian Ices) made this a grand vacation. The three kids played nonstop for the two weeks, running from first light until collapse in the evening. I even successfully ignored email.

Linus the Fish
After the Zoo, Linus discovered the pool for the first time. When I pulled him in, he had a look of betrayal due to the cold water, but in less than a minute he became a fish that refused to leave the pool.

Bugs, I think
From the Bronx Zoo...M & Z were busy in the Madagasgar exhibit and I think this was some kind of bug, but Linus was crying and we had to move quickly to the petting zoo.

The Bronx Zoo
Linus did not enjoy the Bronx Zoo as much as his sisters, so I shlepped him about, trying to keep him moderately peaceful.

Three Youngest Cousins
Matthew, Danielle and Linus had their first extended visit to discover each other and all of Matthew's fun toys. Danielle (one) kept her two-year-old boy cousins in line.
