Maeta giving you a big hand
Another Sunday pool party for the girls. This time with our neighbor, Owen, and his parents.

Zofie and Yoda
Our neighbors, Tom and Jane, have a very friendly cat named Yoda. Zofie chases this cat around the yard whenever she gets the chance. For the most part the cat is tolerant of being patted by a baby.

Maeta's Words
Amy wanted to make sure that we had a some notes somewhere on first words.
Maeta's first word(s), several weeks ago already, were "Tick Tock". Amy plays a game with them where she swings them like a pendulum and says, "Tick-tock, Tick-tock, Maeta's a clock" (or Zofie, depending on which baby is playing the game). Maeta loves this game and we think she started saying this as a way to request the game.
OK, she was saying Mamamamama and Dadadadada for awhile. Hard to know with babies whether it is specific or nonspecific.
Next word, not surprisingly, if you know Maeta, was "Ball"
Zofie started saying "Hi" after vacation and Maeta followed.
We occasionally get "Bye" from both girls.
This morning (8/25) we got two new words: "Spoon" and "Diaper."
The puzzle of a word for us is "Aiden" (Aye-Dan) which we cannot interpret, but which Maeta seems to use to indicate "Me too" or "I want that." Any insights on the source of the word would be appreciated.

Three girls in the pool
Zofie & Maeta had their friends Jane, Richard, Rachel and Heather (the latter three being adults) over for a pool party on Sunday. Their father was supposed to be doing work, but the girls were too cute for him to build closet shelves.

healthy babies
We went to the doctor today. Both girls are very healthy and the doctor expressed no concerns about their heath.Maeta 29.75 inches, 21 lb 8.00oz
Zofie 30.00 inches, 21 lb 5.50oz
Zofie's head is now 45.5cm around; Maeta's remains 45cm.

Riding on a case of beer
One of the two Tannersville breweries had excellent beers. The girls did not get any of them, but they enjoyed the empty case boxes a great deal.
