Maeta's little curls

100_3053.JPG
Maeta has some funky little curls in her hair that especially come out when she has been sleeping. You can see one here (dark spot in the photo, so you may need to look close).

Parachute Drop Redux

100_3050.JPG
You will recall that Zofie like to do a "parachute" move, raising her arms and legs off the ground while rocking on her belly e.g., Dec 31, 2004 . . . Now that she has begun climbing on things, one of her favorite activities is to climb up on top of something and do this little parachute move (until she falls off).

Twins at play

Zofie is no longer allowed in the exersaucer. Little miss physical can launch herself out of the seat head-first onto the floor. Her exersaucer time is now spent entwined in Maeta's rapidly bouncing legs.

Nope, still not crawling.

100_3043.JPG
Maeta has figured out the fundamental issues with crawling, but still cannot manage to do it. To move she rolls and scoots backwards. Her most effective move, as seen here, is an unnaturally long reach for items of interest.

Trying to stand

100_3040.JPG 100_3042.JPG
While Grandma Christian was in town, Zofie decided that she wanted to spend most of her days standing. Zofie is strong, but a major klutz, so we spent the weekend positioned to catch the falling baby.

Triplets....no way

100_3039.JPG
Amy, Richard & Rachel went to an infant CPR class and left my mom and I with the three girls for triplet duty. This picture is from the glorious first 20 minutes. Jane soon realized that her parents were not just talking to someone in the kitchen. While I was comforting her, Zofie got mad that I was insufficiently attentive to her....and it all went downhill from there. Someone gave me a statistic once that stay-at-home dads had a higher rate of heart attack than the population as a whole. Two babies are not so bad...but three would do me in.

The sleep of the just (still)

100_3015.JPG
With the end-of-semester crunch at school, the stress of selling a home, church responsibilities, twin girls, and all the rest that makes up my crazy life, I long for completely innocent, guilt-free sleep. Perhaps I just need my own pancake dog for comfort.

Swinging Siamese Twins

100_3009.JPG
We took advantage of some beautiful spring days to introduce the girls to the park. They are still small enough that they can both fit into one kiddie swing--which makes it entertaining for the parents too.

Magret de Canard

100_2976.JPG
In all of our efforts to raise them well, children do some strange things--like eat plastic fruit. We find some solace that when she eats plastic food Maeta chooses well: Magret de Canard. Perhaps we need to up the ante and put a little Canard et Choucroute through the happy grinder to keep her away from the bath ducks.
